characteristics of potential AmeriCorps recruits are:

mentoring, volunteer development, program
planning
and implementation, resource development,
civic

and
evaluation and reporting.
2. Flexibility and patience with teens, volunteers and
community partners and groups.

Demonstrated leadership ability.
4.
Commitment to being a positive role model for
others.
5.
Possesses good writing and communication skills.
6. Possession of valid driver's license.
7.
Willingness to submit to a criminal background check.
Benefits
Each AmeriCorps member will receive training related to mentoring
programs, child development, volunteer
management, building community collaborations, program development
and management, communications skills, conflict resolution,
resource development, civic engagement, evaluation and reporting,
and portfolio development. AmeriCorps members will receive an
annual stipend (paid
biweekly) of $11,100 before taxes. Upon successful
completion of one year of service (and a minimum of 1,700 hours
of service) the AmeriCorps member will receive an educational
award of $4,725.
Requirements
Education/experience in education, social services, youth development
or communications field desirable. Knowledge of computer programs
such as word processing (WORD), PowerPoint and the use of search
engines also desirable.
